I love my career and my new position at the PCI. It was you who encouraged me and pushed me towards my goal of teaching. Your enthusiasm for life and all things vanilla have inspired me to stay focused on what I love to do and to not stray away for money or prestige. Your beauty and smile never cease to give my heart joy. I love you endlessly. I have three mornings a week available to take you to chemo so please let know your schedule and I will take you up on that offer for a pastry and chat at Gayles. Comments: HI Patricia, I wish I lived closer, and could help with the everyday needs that you have. You are such a beam of light and a model to so many with your courageous attitude and search for renewal As a Diagnostic Ultrsound tech, my new position, I see lots of pathology and many people's response to their situation. You are a model I recently read a scientific article on how vanilla is worlds cheaper when it is manufactured from E.coli, synthetically. Boo-hiss I have an art show featuring orchids this month at the MiamiBeach Botanical Garden. Vanilla is in there too

Comments: Dear Patricia, I first want to reintroduce myself...I am Pat Hopper's wayward child who somehow through no desire of my own am in exile in Phoenix Arizona How I miss Santa Cruz, Castroville and Monterey. But exiles do serve a purpose and as this is the place where I hit rock bottom and bounced back...I can not speak too poorly of this desert outpost. Although I am still a firm believer that sand without an ocean is just dirt And there is a lot of dirt round here. Humor...yes humor is what has gotten me to the top of the hill from the pit of alcoholism and bi-polar disorder. A gift that my mother and father gave me...and as you know my mom is one funny woman. Her heart can be ripping out and she can still belly laugh. Speaking of hurting I want you to know that my mother is very worried about you and cherishes you as a true friend, I can remember the Artichoke days and how she spoke so highly of you then. She hasn't changed even though you are now the Queen of the Bean I am convinced that life on this planet is not the end all but just a part of the journey. And it is not what we get from life but what we give to life that matters. I want to thank-you for being such a strong example of this theory. For finding time to be my mom's friend even as you fight your battles. I admire you and am pulling for you 100% I also want you to know that I have been a vanilla freak since childhood. When I wanted to put perfume on as a child my mom would get the vanilla extract and let me dab it behind my ears and on my wrists. I thought it was heavenly. Today I do the same for my daughter Madison...who will be six on the 2nd of January. You would think life revolved on the ability to waft the aroma of vanilla I hope to one day have her meet you and to reaquiant myself with you again. God bless and the creek don't rise I close with a little humor. I was listening to a talk show here in Phoenix, and the man was complaining about not sleeping. The talk show host suggested he check out the book of vanilla So see...you help people in all areas Fondly, Lisa

Comments: Patricia, I have only spoken with you a couple of times, of course having to do with your business at vanilla.com, and have read of your most recent challenges. It's a familiar sound - both my father and an aunt are dealing with cancer, albeit of different varieties. It can be a taxing hill to climb, and I wish you all the love and passion you will need to help you along the way. With that, I have a friend who works at the National Cathedral in Washington, and have asked her several times to light a candle there in your name. If you've felt a glow from the east, that may be it. Thank you for sharing the birth story - it's always good to see the balance that these amazing little creatures bring to us.

My 13 month old baby is waking up from her nap next door, yawning, and making those cute baby noises up arising, and it makes me realize how amazing it is for you to be around to be part of your grandson's life, and he for yours It's a real blessing you have the chance to enjoy one another, and for your daughter to see you in another light, now that she is also a mom. Comments: Dear Patricia I am a new friend of yours in India and as just was getting interested in vanilla and hence loved to read all sorts of informations from your web. But the news of your illness was a shock to me , but I admire the way you face it up. It gives more relief and happiness to others as much as you derive out of it. My mum also had cancer but she faced it bravely with my sweet dad for the past twenty five years. But then, when my dad died, she just hang up and followed him in a month's time. I am sure that you can hold on with all your vanilla fraternity and never leave hope. Cheer up With lots of love and prayers J. Thomas

Comments: I haven't called or written, but you are on my mind ALL the time, so you're getting what energy I can send on a regular basis. Some of it, of course, is selfish--I hate to lose friends, and I hate to see folk I care about ill. Two of my lists have you in mind, as well. You have changed so many people's lives for the better, and it would be sad if we could not return the favor. Thank you so much for telling us of your challenge, so that we might show how we care, and try to help in our own individual ways. The hardest thing I know right now is finding out afterwards that someone I value has died, and felt they could not tell me/their friends. So, in Jewish thought, you are allowing people to do a mitzvah, a good deed, in telling us your challenge, and asking for our help. Not that I'm Jewish--but that's a great way of looking at things. Of course, I will continue to buy vanilla products from you in the coming months. After all, my MiL is here, and we'll be going through it like the joy that it is. Please let me know if I can splurge on you at a spa or have you over for tea, etc., or otherwise give you tangible evidence of affection and caring. I hold you in my affections. Alas, I have not heard any humor worth repeating recently. However, Arthur grows more adept at wordplay as the weeks go by. Marina

You are truly the QUEEN I remember how we met last year in Montreal on an optional tour bus trip. You chatted and laughed on the seat behind me until i just had to turn around and meet this very upbeat person. And indeed you have met the challenge of your recent diagnosis with the most positive outlook as befits your remarkable personality. I know that you are there praying for all of us as I will think of you, hope with you and pray with you for your complete recovery. With great admiration and best wishes, Silvia Lehrer

Comments: Patricia, I am thinking of you bathed in auroral light. Life is a curious adventure when the unimaginable is before us and the impossible is suddenly quite possible. I feel a magical connection to you, through my unwavering love and devotion to Serena thank you so much for blessing this earth with Serena , and because the fire within your spirit is somehow familiar. Do you remember the quote I used to keep on the wall of my old apartment with Serena? Probably not but it read, "More Powerful than fate is the courage which bears it." I found that in Viktor Frankl's 'Man's Search for Meaning', a book that helped me in the midnight of my darkest hour. He also wrote, "We must never forget that we may find meaning in life even when confronted with a seemingly hopeless situation. For what matters then is to bear witness to the uniquely human potential at its best, which is to transform a personal tragedy into a triumph, to turn one's predicament into a human acheivement. When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves." These statements gave me hope, helped me understand my suffering was not without meaning, taught me to create a meaning. And you dance this beautiful dance of life with great joy and wisdom. Your strength and vulnerability are equally exquisite. The very core of my magical and healing self is sending great blessings and hope to you. May the sea give you eternal hope, may the moon bring the tides of your body to balance, may the the fire of creation burn brightly for you, may the trees call out your triumph, and may the stones of this earth give you strength. I will complete my little note with one more quote, this one is from my two year old friend Kaleil after having a tough morning, "It is hard to be a person Kate, but I like to snuggle, dhat makes it feel better." And so, with a giant snuggle, and love...Kate.

Comments: I just now found out--so I am still po'd. It will pass, especially as I read your truly queenly in the VERY BEST sense of the word--actually, REGAL page with good sense and transcendental sense on how to deal with your skirmish and those we all deal with some with the same enemy-- and cancer IS an enemy, literally. Sneaky damn cells . Aha, here's some lemonade. So far, everyone I know/knew who has had to deal with breast cancer is a fantastic human being. Somehow, those nasty damn cells seem to gravitate toward the best women there are. So--you're in good company, aren't you? Now I'll read your page, and shake the anger and the poison that goes with it. I have already started to pray for you I pray pretty good and you'll be in a very effective prayer chain in a few minutes. I finally got old enough to realize--prayer works Love, Cynthia

Comments: Dearest Patricia,
Cancer in todays world seems to have become more and more common, fighting techniques more complex and stories of survival a lot more familiar. Complicated and life sapping chemo and radiation will bring you down to your knees and then up again to see another dimension of life....a life of a survivor who values every day even more. My 46 year old cousin, an airline pilot is battling a twin tumor in his brain. one has been removed and another reduced to a cyst. Doctors are confident that in a few months he would be as close to normal as could be. My General Manager's father is battling a late detected cancerous growth on his liver that has spread a bit too much. He is undergoing the latest treatment including some experimental treatment and he is confident that he will beat it. A lot of it is in your mind and your will to fight life's twists and turns. I will pray for your recovery and hope your dreams of visiting Mada and India are fulfilled and
more importantly see your newest grandchild graduate!
All the best Patricia.

Comments: Hello Patricia,
Andrew Penn here. I just finished reading through your website, which Kendra provided me the address to and I have to tell you how inspired I am by your courage and optimism through all this. In my work as a nurse, I see so many people in various stages of health and illness, life and death in my work, and I am continually struck by how two different people can cope with the same disease. Attitude makes such the difference. Regardless of how it affects the outcome of the illness, more importantly, it effects how you live with the illness... and that seems to make all the difference.
I'm looking out the window this morning, across the rooftops of San Francisco, past the green mound of Strawberry hill in the middle of the park, all the way out to the clear, crisp blue line that is the ocean's horizon (there's a ship coming in towards the gate), and my thoughts are with you.
love,
Andrew

Comments: Dear Auntie,
Hope you doing a bit fine, but i would wish to know the outcome of the latest tests of the liver and i hope from there we shall have a stand.
HAPPY NEW YEAR, for the last ten days, i was upcountry i went to see my family and other relatives, my brother who got an accident is doing fine, he is now okey to move and ride a bicycle, the problem is that he got a dead year that is he was supposed to join senior six, but because of the accident he didn't do his exams so he has to start afresh in senior five, which will be tougher for me now in terms of school costs.
But what i liked is that he healed.
I am glad to visit the URL, www.patriciarain.com it encouraged me so much, iam now following the events as they follow day by day, I am very greatful to see that website, i think from now onwards anything regarding your sickness i will be forwarding it to the web.
I told my people in the village they were very much concerned of that kind of sickness especially as they know that you are my American Aunt. They are praying hard for you to heal only that they are not educated, they can't access your site.
Mulati Jamin, the friend whom iam supposed to travel with if we happen to get a visa, is sending greetings and prayers to you as i told him of your current status, today he has also accessed your site and when we read the current message, the two of us were very much so encouraged.
I was putting a flashback, i found out that we are now 1 1/2 years since we came to know each other, it is very great. Greetings from Antoinette.
I send you my love and prayers from my immediate family, friends and others.

Comments: Wonderful Patricia,
I have had three dreams about you now, so it is time to stop bothering your phone with messages and write. The dreams were set by the ocean and we were mostly giggling about general silly things. The colours in the dreams were the most vivid, flowers everywhere. Delicate orchids with elegant curls and wild patterns. A deep purple orchid that had a shock of bright yellow peeking out shyly. In one dream, we talked about plans for Serena and Brad's baby shower, and let me tell you, we came up with some fabulous ideas, that I cannot quite remember...
I am writing to say all of my healing thoughts and love are focused on you and those who love you. The magic that is being conjured for you by myself and so many others must feel a bit overwhelming. I have lit a deep purple candle surrounded by white for cleansing and green for hope and healing upon my altar for you. Please, do not feel as if you need to respond to this little note in any manner. I just wanted to repeat that Andrew and I are thinking of you and sending love. Do let me know if there is anything I can do, small as it may be.
With love and magic,
Kate

Comments: My dear beloved Patricia,
It is just after midnight, January 14th, so I'd like to begin by saying "Happy Birthday!"
With close to 12 years of history between us, it is hard to know where to begin, or what to say... I guess I'll start at the beginning... You were first introduced into my life as the mother of my dear friend. (Thank you, Serena!) As we got to know each other better, and Serena moved away, you & I became good friends. When I was dealing with my own health crisis, you were there for me, with foot rubs, TLC, and, of course, delicious food to nourish my body & soul. Over the years, our friendship has grown and you have become my favorite confidante, sharing all of my best and worst secrets. When I was devasted from a relationship gone bad, you were there for me, and continued to give me love & support despite my foolish choices. For nearly 3 years now you have been my boss (it still feels weird to call you that), and working with you has been an amazing and wonderful learning experience. Above all, you have been, and continue to be my very, very dear friend. I thank God for bringing you into my life, for you have impacted me more than you know. In little ways, like sharing with me an appreciation for the simple joy of birds, or sitting on your back deck, enjoying the beauty of your glorious garden. You have inspired me to be more "brave" and creative in the kitchen. You have exposed me, through your love of good food and your excellent cooking, to fabulous foods & flavor combinations I'd never experienced before. And I have met some of the most delightful people through you. Most of all, you have inspired me to be a better person by your living example of kindness, compassion and generosity. (I still have a long way to go!) My friend Suzi said of you, "She's such a bright light." I couldn't agree more, and I believe strongly that you will shine for years to come. I will continue to lift you up in prayer to God the Healer ("I am the Lord who heals you." -Exodus 15:26), and I will continue to be by your side, holding your hand, sharing hugs, tears and laughter, through whatever may come our way. You are so dear to me, my friend. I look forward to sharing with you many more years of friendship, laughter, good food and wonderful music. You are in my heart and in my prayers, always. Be well and be blessed.
Love, Gina

Comments: Dear Patricia,
Since I haven't talked with you for weeks, your very, very sad news came as quite a shock. It is so frustrating to not be able to fix things for you and "make everything better" as we mothering types want to do. I will keep you in my prayers and have already asked others to pray for you. I can't even imagine the mental anguish or the many, many things that keep running through your mind: - Serena, Brad, your grandchild, John and his wife, your many friends and business associates, and on and on.... You are one of the strongest women I know, and you have the prayers of many directed your way. I like the idea of the Tibetan medical team and the fact that you felt stronger after seeing them.
I will give you a call very soon to find out how the PT/SCAN was and if there is any more information - hopefully POSITIVE information.
Just know you are loved by many,
Sparrow

Comments: Dear Patricia:
I was struck by the news!! I am happy to learn about the grandchild. Give Serena and her husband my warmest congratulations and my best wishes for the future.
You know that my two daughters had breast cancer. One in December last year and the second one in May. Lety, the youngest, went through chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments. Olguita, our oldest child, only had to take the chemotherapy. Both have check up every three months and fortunately it seems they are ok so far, Thank God.
I am sure that, with the advances in medicine in the US, they will treat you well and you will come through with flying colors. We all will be praying for you.
In any event, I will be checking your web site to learn how are ou doing. But do no lose your good spirits, the one that have a characteristic of you.
I hope you will be reunited with your children this Christmas and enjoy the beauty of family love. We send you our very best and warm wishes for your health and your children well-being.
With a fuerte y cordial abrazo,

Comments: Patricia,
In Sicily in the Third Century they celebrate a saint, who was harassed and abducted by a Roman soldier. This so very much peeved her so that she cut off both of her breasts. The Roman Soldier lost interest of course. And, guess what, the next day both of her breasts grew back again. (The problem with oral tradition is that perhaps things get exaggerated, and so maybe it was not exactly the following day, but somewhat later.) In any case, the locals were all terribly impressed. And apparently they went through the process at the Vatican, and one of the Popes proclaimed her a Saint.
Sicily used to be connected economically and politically to Savoie, and now today, in Savoie there is a special sweet cake that is made in a soft peaked form in mid-December. This cake form is of unidentified origins so far as the local bakers were concerned, but it turns out that historians have now decided that the cakes are in honor of Saint ___. I'm sorry that I was not listening carefully enough to get the Saint's name--she is not a Saint listed on my postal calendar from the French Poste, but it was the big
Radio Station, France Inter, that told us all about it two days ago.
If I find out anything else, I shall let you know. Surely I can find out which Saint is the one we should be directing our prayers to, and I shall keep you posted.
I adore your sparkly bravery.
Fondly,
Nancy (France)

Comments: Dear Patricia,
It was shocking to hear of your ill health. From the T.V. show you had, you looked just wonderful and looked like so healthy. I am sorry to hear about it. I do not have any magic cures but I would like to share some thoughts on it. I have some people in my life who had come down with it and there was something there that they all shared. This had nothing to do with genetics. I always noticed that they all were so nice people...not a bad word to anyone, even if they were so hurt by someone so long ago and could not get over it. They all kept in all inside where it hurts the most. By all means if you have anyone in your life that you need to tell the pain they had caused you, please tell them and get rid of the "load of feathers that now weigh a ton" NOW! You can do it by mouth or hand...any would do. I am glad you have taken an open mind view of this whole thing and seeking alternative possibilities are always there. Also, the ability to change your mind will be with you always and as often as I see this type of illness, it will affect your mind first. I will look at your web site to catch up with you. I wish you much peace, great health
Love,

Comments: Dear Patricia,
I am terribly sorry to hear that you have breast cancer, we will pray that you might get cured soon. There is always a miracle that can happen. There is an instance here in Indonesia that a person who was declared cancer was able to get cured by drinking herbs. Maybe it is by chance but he got well nevertheless. I dont remember what kind of cancer it was. Try also homeopathy, it is also possible , because there was also an instance that the person got cured.
In our Holy Quran it is mentioned that there is a cure for all diseases, but it is only a matter of knowing the medicine. One of these days there will be a cure for cancer. There has been research for theses medicine but not yet found to be very effective. Chemotherapy is maybe the best available now, but there still needs improvement. By using that you might loose some hairs. We will pray that you might be cured.

Comments: Dear Patricia,
I've just got the news you send to our Papantla family and I don't want to lose any time to send you my impressions from our meeting in Princeton. It was really nice to meet you, my family had always talked very good about you and I indeed agreed with them: YOU ARE A VERY NICE, INTELLIGENT, PRETTY AND KIND PERSON!!!! and your strength and energy are the most powerfull tools, which are so contageous that every person around you feels inmediately surrounded by your energy.
I was really surprised to hear all you were doing with the vanilla but most of all impressed from your nice and gentle personality. You are from that kind of person from whom we all have lots of things to learn, so I hope, we keep in touch because there are a lot of questions which I would like to ask you.
Dear vanilla queen, I know you are going through a bad moment and really want to tell you that we all send you back the energy you have given us to face this difficult time, which for sure will be very brief.
My best wishes and all my love to you and your family

Comments: Dear Queen,
Really u r great. I gone through your new site and find you very strong. But will you fever me by giving me authority to perform Mahamrityunjaya Mantra on behalf of you, I will be very grateful.
Mantra has power, when my father was attack by peralisis & heart stroke, doctor ask me to call my sister who is in usa to see him. Doc was very sure that my Dad is there for 24 hours. When she came to India, She found my dad in garden and he was reading newspaper. She was surprised and happy to see our dad in pink of health. Doc also told me that according to medical science its not possible to see my Dad alive. So miracles are still there with mantras, I had perform the above said Mantra for 125,000 time and the result was that we stayed together for 3 years.
So what I mean is, I am going to perform the same Mantra. Please mail me a resolution to perform holy work. I’m sure that you will be back to normal within no time. I am going to start it with the help of head priest of Hindu Temple. Please don’t delay to send me your resolution. You just write me.
I am planning to visit your great country in the last week of August. Hope you will be busy with your work for the needies. And with the PINK health. Within a 15 days you will find very good improvement .
God bless you, you are already blessed by God.

Comments: Dear Aunt,
Thank you for all your attention. I am very sorry to hear about the diagnosis. I pray and hope that you will get back to your normal health soon. I would certainly include your cause in my daily prayer. Kindly take turmeric(organic if possible) in your diet as it is anti-cancerous, I have heard of many people getting cured of cancer with cow therapy in India. I shall try to get some cow urine tablets which are so good against cancer.
Please do take good care of your self.

Comments: Pat - I have been reading the different parts of your site and am completely overwhelmed at the richness of your life and the number and devotion of your friends. I thought I knew you - having met you when Serena was a baby for those of you reading this - I helped take care of Serena while Pat was working, when she was an adorable todler and I had a son the same age, they became quite a pair but I can see now I had only a glimpse of your whole life. Your approach to your condition is an inspiration to all - and I am doing what I can by keeping you in my thoughts. And by the way, sharing your approach with others who could use some inspiration also. It sounds as if you will have wonderful co grandparent in Brad's father - you two have no idea just how incredible it is to be a grandparent I can recommend focusing on that as much as possible I think you are.... I will be especially thinking of you on the 13th - Much Love, Maryly

Comments: Dear Rain, It's been many, many years since we met, but I keep in touch with you through William. Right now I'm sitting in William's parlor at Seth's Pond on Martha's Vineyard after a rich and full Christmas in which we invoked your presence along with other beloved friends. My dear friend Shanja is making decisions regarding a growing lump in her breast, and has explored a number of non-allopathic practices. The main one I want her to share with you is the Gerson Institute clinic in Mexico, which has decades of successful treatments for cancer. The heart of their work are freshly-juiced foods plus coffee enemas - a rigorous protocol to create an internal environment inimical to cancer growth. Shanja has done a modified version of this protocol since last spring has not gone to the clinic in Mexico , and she is clearer, lighter, and more energetic than ever. Their work may be worth your pursuing in addition to whatever you do in the medical realm. Shanja lives in Carmel, and knows that part of her work is sharing what she is learning. I will let her know of your site...and I can email you her phone number in a separate message. I love your website and the radiant spirit shining forth. -- Love and blessings, Janaia

Comments: When I entered the hive of The Vanilla Queen, I thought of vanilla as “plain”. It was certainly my favorite ice cream and I used it in all of my dessert recipes, but I hadn’t thought much about it. So when I met you “The Vanilla Queen” my entire world changed. I found out that vanilla was almost as wonderful as the woman who represented it. It is no wonder you were dubbed The Vanilla Queen. With your elegance, diversity, strength, endurance, subtly, softness, and beauty, you are so much like the wonderful flavor called vanilla. You have taught me much about vanilla, but more about the person I want to be. I have to thank you for allowing me to be a part of your life. With all the love in my heart, I am wishing you the very best.~Anita

Comments: Hi Patricia Rain You came through my line today as I was running check out at Trader Joe's. I wanted you to know that I thought of you again and again all day and every time I did, I got an enormous smile that spread all over my face like strawberry jam. You're just so EXCITING What an awesome opportunity for growth, exploration, and the creation of community that you're seizing in this terrifying moment I'm utterly convinced that you're going to grab this orc big, ugly, but very unintelligent things as we well know... and easily slain by someone with an ounce of courage or intelligence by the throat and SQUE-EE-EE-EEZE. When we talked and every time I thought of you since, I put all of my amazing powers of belief into your total and complete health. I'm sure I will think of you again, and always with a smile. Good luck and come thru my line again if you think of it, so you can keep me PERSONALLY posted. Christy P.S. The picture of you at 21 is absolutely beautiful. Yr such a knock out

But i recenntly came to understand that in Western countries, it is cured in most cases. Dear Aunt, i have a very strong feeling that yours has not gone far interms of deterioration, i feel that in God's power you will heal. Whenever i'm having my prayers, i say i pass a quarter of it to you especially for that particular illness. Let us join hands for all of your friends and relatives and pray that that illness is rectified as soon as possible. Or atleast lets get a guantee that you will heal. Will love and prayers from Asiimwe Anania.

Comments: Well dear, what to say stephanie and I are keeping you in our prayers, and although Serena may have already told you I will dare repeat that the Bikers of the Tribe of Judah Motorcycle Ministry have been informed by me of your situation, and they are including you in the prayers of the clubs they minister to which includes the Hells Angels whom I should probably ask for a few prayers from myself, so as to have all bases covered as it were... actually I worked on a job with the Minister who also is a carpenter, so he may also have some pull with Mother goddess... In her light by the way, take a moment if you will, to read the DeVinci code, a great read which I knocked over in two nights, and now I've got Stephanie hooked on it trying to figure out how this guy pushed all my Catholic memory circuits back up to full volume in so little time. When you're done with that please bear with me just once more and tackle a drier read by Karen Singer on Mary Magdelane. It and the Gnostic Gosples by Elaine Pagel give us all much to hope for in restoring Harmony to our out of balance spirit world, if not globally at least locally. I'm reminded of Mom's mother Alice who was a quiet Maryenist and as you know, went to church 2 times a day. Once again to conclude as she would have,"never underestimate the power of prayer " And tho I'm inclined to feel more confidence in her power than my own I am finally beginning to sense what she meant when she said "it Matters whom you are praying to..." As we're both getting on now I hope our books are in balance as Friends, and With Prayers, Holy Mother, please grant your strength to My friend, Patricia to purge this virus, and continue her wonderful work among us. Surround her with your Holy Spirit and grant her the additional life force she needs to continue her own special Ministry as an Apostle of Herbs, as a tool for the Gardeners of our Planet,an agent for Peace, and a true servant of your eternal force for life. Grant us both the forgiveness shared with us through Sacrifice of your Son, and let us know your true Peace, and Awareness as the Children of the Light for the remainder of our time as we know it. We ask this in Jesus name,in Harmony with Lord Buddha,In Love with Lord Baba, and in service with your Servant Amaji. May it Be So That said, may the wind be at your back, the Sun be in your face, and may you sip a bit of the old Irish in my name as I to yours I pray, I sip to you right now, and may we both sip to Theo come March. A hug to Brad and Serena, please... Love...

Comments: Dearest Patricia, When we first met to develop plans for Vanilla.com and you told me your wonderful stories, I knew instantly that I had standing before me a treasure - a beautiful and unique individual who truly is anything but plain. I feel so privileged to have you in my life, but more importantly, the whole world is privileged to have you. Your self-sacrificing spirit has been an inspiration to us all. And now, as you begin this new road, I know that you will continue to inspire us as you traverse it in a way that will be out of the ordinary, as only your indomitable, positive spirit can. May you be a guiding light to others who are traveling the same road, to inspire them with hope and good spirit. But now, please also grant us the privilege to return to you what you have given to the world. How fitting you be called "Rain" for you have showered the world with your loving spirit. Now, may we shower you in return with positive healing thoughts, love and prayers. When you read the entries in this guestbook, open your heart to the loving energy from which they emanate, and may the power of that love heal you. With deep love, respect and devotion, I send you my love and prayers. Kat
